John Halseth Passes Away
John Halseth, a resident of the Big Sandy section since 1905, passed away at the St. Clare hospital in this city on last Tuesday evening, Oct. 19th, following an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Halseth had been a resident of this city for the past couple years and for several months at the hospital. He was nearly 70 years of age.
Mr. Halseth was born at Christian, Norway, on Jan. 17, 1864, and he came to the United States when he was 20 years of age and settled in Minnesota where he resided until coming to Montana in 1905. He was united in marriage and his wife passed away here Feb. 1939.
The only relative is a brother, Olof Olson Halseth, of Fort Riley, Kansas, who is in the armed services there.
The remains were taken to Big Sandy where funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church in that city, and conducted by Rev. Carlton, Methodist minister. Burial was made in the cemetery at Big Sandy.
