St. Clair, Oct. 6- Peter Lawrence Zimmer,70 died early today in St. Clair Community Hospital of burns received Sept. 8 in a tractor explosion on his farm which also fatally burned a companion, Ernest Husel, 71. Mr. Husel died a week after the accident.
Both received first and second degree burns over much of their bodies when an accumulation of gas fumes in the carburetor of the tractor they were repairing was ignited. The machine exploded and burned.
He is survived by his widow, Rose; two sons, George and Robert Zimmer; a sister, Mrs. Edward Powers, and two grandsons, Stephen and Allan Zimmer, all of St. Clair.
Remains are in the L. C. Friederichs and Son funeral home, St. Clair, where Rosary devotions will be conducted at 8 p.m. today by the Rosary society of the church and the women of the parish and at 8 p.m. Tuesday by the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name society.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Marys Catholic church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Edward J. Kromenaker, pastor, officiatiang. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
