E. G. Wells, the son of William H. Wells and Elizabeth Columbia Prunty, was born on May 5, 1882, probably in Millwood, Grayson County, Kentucky where the family was living at the time of the 1880 census. He died 10 days later on May 15, 1882. He was buried in the Old Taylor Cemetery on Sadler Road southwest of Leitchfield, Grayson County, Kentucky. His mother was also buried there after her death on August 24, 1889.
