Davis retired from Johns Mansville in 1991 after 38 years of service with the company. He attended Vienna Baptist Church for over 40 years and enjoyed assisting with the repair and maintenance around the church. He had been active with the Boys Scouts since 1971 and was Unit Commissioner for the Allohak Council Boys Scouts of America. He had previously served as District Commissioner and Troop Leader of Troop 20. He had received several rewards from the Boy Scouts, including District Award of Merit, Wood Badge, Silver Beaver, and Good Sheppard award. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the Occupation Force. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and woodworker.
