NELIA DUDLEY
---Mrs. Nelia Magers Dudley, a charter member of the South Gifford Christian Church, died at her Gifford home October 26 at the age of 78.
---Mrs. Dudley was born October 10, 1875, the daughter of J. K. and Matilda Magers.
---On April 18, 1892, she married James A. Dudley. Three daughters and two sons were born, Albert and Ethel, twins, died in infancy. Also preceding her in death were her husband on November 14, 1945.
---Surviving are one son, James M. Dudley of Beaumont, California; two daughters, Mrs. Basil Soupos of the home and Mrs. A. C. Bloom of Wood Lake, Nebraska; two grandsons, George Allen and Lederic Bloom; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Dell Magers of Elmer; a sister, Mrs. G. T. Harlan of Montana and other relatives.
---Mrs. Dudley united with the Christian Church early in life and was a charter member of the church in Gifford. She was a Practical Nurse, leaving her family and home to care for the sick in the community until she was no longer able to do so.
---She took into her home two boys, Carl Wood and Thomas Jr. Grogan, caring for them and providing for their education.
---Funeral services were October 28, 1953 at the Christian Church in South Gifford. Rev. Ray Prather officiated. Burial was in Chariton Cemetery.
