Husband of Josena (DeHaan) Troost.
Charles Troost, 83, of 121 Waverly, died Friday evening, Jan 4, in a local nursing home following an extended illness.
Born in Holland, he lived in the area all his life and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Harold Troost of Holland, Raymond Troost of Marion and Horace J. Troost of Spring Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmie (Dorothy) Bakker of Holland and Mrs. (Betty) Dubbink of Hamilton; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Molenaar and Mrs. Mamie Smith of Howard City and Mrs. Sena Klomparens of Zeeland; a brother-in-law, Marvin Den Herder of Holland; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Horace Troost of Holland.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. J.C. House officiating. Burial will be in Olive Center Cemetery.
Calling hours are today, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Dystra Northwood Chapel.
