She married George Black in Lincolnville, on August 24, 1939; he died June 1, 1978. She retired in 1985 from Wabash Magnetics, where she had worked since 1957. Marie loved to garden and do cross-stitching.
She is survived by her three children, Katherine Black of Wabash, Jeanne Spears of Elkhart, Indiana, and Wayne Black of Bozeman, Montana; two brothers, William Schoby of Wabash, and Paul (Margaret) Schoby of Issaquah, Washington; three sisters, Margaret Brubaker of Pennsylvania, Mary Keffaber of Wabash, and Ruth (Lawrence) Martin of Cambria, California; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Carl and James Black, her daughter, Sue Flynn, three brothers, and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Lincolnville. Friends may call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
