Egon "Lindy" Lindberg, 76, of North Wales, PA passed away after a short illness at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1932 to Ester and Andrew Lindberg of Oxie Skona Sweden. Lindy was the first of his family to be a natural born citizen of the United States (something he was extremely proud of). He had two older brothers Alton and Alvin. As Lindy grew up he would be raised by his eldest brother Alton and his sister in law Myra.
During the Korean War, Lindy received the rank of Staff Sergant serving very near the 38th par. He served under the command of Sgt First Class John Maguire. The two quickly became best friends. Following the war John(his senior) introduced him to his little sister, Katherine. They would quickly fall in love, the following May Lindy and Kate married at Our Mother of Consulation in Chestnut Hill and settled down on Meade St.He would go to work with his brother in law John (as Kate studied nursing at Chestnut Hill Hospital)as a tool and dye maker before attending school and going to work as the director of advertising and marketing for McNeil Pharmaseuticals of Fort Washington, PA.A year after marrying Kate, they welcomed their first child Karen. They would have two more children, Susan and Richard. They would have 52 wonderful years of marriage. In 1982, Kate and Lindy became grandparents for the first time and would have 4 very loving grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew, Robin and Dana.

Lindy was an avid gardener (there was nothing he couldn't plant), loved to go fishing and canoeing, traveling all over, spending loads of time with his family and was devoted to his Swedish heritage and Roman Catholic faith (even being his only Grandson's sponsor during his confirmation).A funeral mass was held at St. Rose of Lima, arrangements taken care of by Craft of Erdenheim Funeral Home.
