Mrs. Haskell Baggett died at 12:25 pm Saturday, January 19, in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, after a short illness.

She was 79 years of age and had lived in Collingsworth County almost all of her life.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, in First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Thomson, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Elvis Pitts, pastor of Quail Baptist Church.

Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were Wayne Cummings, Reed Souder, Howard Tackett, John Pendergraft, Dennis Pendergraft and Farris Nation.

Mrs. Baggett was the former Mary Annie Winkler, the daughter of Henry and Susie Hairston Winkler, and was born in Hall County, Sept. 11, 1904. She came with her parents to the Quail area when she was 10 months old, living in the area the remander of her life.

She was married to Haskell Baggett Sept., 17, 1922 at Quail. He died October 23, 1980.

Mrs. Baggett was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Busy Bee Quilting Club.

Survivors are three daughters; Joyce Martin of Lubbock, Katherine Tidrow and Ann Nation both of Idalou.

There are 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, R.C. Baggett on August 10, 1940.
