Doyle Glenn Hill, age 67, of Florence, passed away on Friday August 7, 2009 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be on Monday August 10, 2009 at 4 pm in the chapel of Elkins East Chapel in Center Star. Bro. Henry Melton and Jerry Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in Center Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends on that day from 2 pm until 4 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Hill is a former member of the Chicago Bears Football team and the Canadian Football League. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessie Hill.
Mr. Hill is survived by his daughters, Cindy Barr (Billy), Dinah Hill, and Tonja Minor, all of Florence; his sisters, Dorothy Alexander of Center Star, and Marsue Haraway (T.B.) of Florence; his brother, Harlon Hill of Killen; his grandchildren, Brittney Davis, Casey Johnson, and Zac Minor; his great grandchildren, Brieann and Cooper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Zac Minor, Billy Barr, Hunter Davis, Jerry Hill, Ricky Haraway, Matthew Terrell, Drew Phillips, and Jim Sargent. Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Lemay, Travis Hill, Billy Ray Hill, James Cloyd Hill, Monny Watson, and Leon Lemay.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of the TN Valley and Dr. Lyman Mitchell.
