ALGOMA RECORD HERALD, Friday, January 6, 1911: Mrs. John Hafeman - Died at Home in Kolberg Saturday--Leaves Large Family of Small Children
One of the saddest deaths which has taken place in this vicinity for some time, was that of Mrs. John Hafeman, who passed away last Saturday at her home in Kolberg after but a short illness.
Louisa Brockhausen was born in the town of Forestville on May 29, 1875. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brockhausen, and a graduate of the schools of that village. In 1894 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Hafeman, and to this union were born nine children, the oldest of whom is now but 15 years of age and the youngest being eight days old at the time of the mother's death. The deceased was well known throughout that section of the county, and her sudden death shocked the entire community. The funeral was held from the home in Kolberg on Tuesday, a large circle of sorrowing friends and relatives being in attendance.
