Besch, Alexander (private) age 22 in 1860; enlisted in Company D, 21st Texas Infantry, on April 24, 1862 at Columbus; reassigned with entire company to 3rd Company A, 13th Texas Infantry, in November 1864; detached to quartermaster to serve as mechanic at Columbus, January 27, 1865.
Son of Ferdinand and Antonia (Bick) Besch...Confederate veteran
Husband of Gertrude Henrietta (Envel) Besch.
Adopted son: Louis Besch; born: 1893; died: Mar 13, 1908;
Alexander Besch is really buried in Besch Cemetery on private property, but no tombstones are there. Alexander Besch actually has a tombstone in the Columbus Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery, but it was not erected at the time of his death. It is a Confederate veteran marker erected, probably, in the 1960s.
