Mrs. Alice S. Waskom
LAPORTE -- Mrs. Alice S. Waskom, 68, who lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bergquist at 107 E. LaPorte, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday in her home. She was born in Hanna, March 8, 1907. She was retired from The First National Bank. She married Russell M. Ervin in 1946, and he died in 1955. In 1963 she married Jay Waskom, who died in 1970. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Rainard Tucker of LaCrosse, Mrs. Bergquist of LaPorte, and Mrs. Robert Rutherford of Hammond; two stepsons, Wendall Waskom of Fredricksburg, Va., and Don Waskom of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church. Rev. Wallace Jones and Rev. Elmer C. Johnston will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Haverstock Funeral Home and from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until services at the church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LaCrosse. She was a member of First Christian Church, Circle III of the church, of the Orient Chapter OES, and the White Shrine.
