Dorris Vanderburg was my uncle and his death date was June 19, 1972. He died of a heart attack which caused his car to go off the road between Beaver Creek and Luverne (MN). He had experienced chest pains earlier in the day, went home to rest, and then went to drive himself to the doctor to be checked out. On his way to the doctor, he apparently had another heart attack and his body reacted by accelerating the car. It went off the road and into a farmer's field. It stopped when the car went through a small creek on the farmer's property. My uncle's body was not found for many hours as his family searched for him. One of my cousins (the youngest in the family) eventually found his body and he was slumped over the steering wheel. It was a very tragic loss for our family, and Dorris has been greatly missed by us, even all these years (41) later.
