A graduate of Williamsburg High School, Mr. Donnelly served in the U. S. Marine Corps for five years with duty in the Mediterranean and in Charleston. He was a landscape architect for forty two years and owned his own business, Donnelly Landscaping. Mr. Donnelly was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Driggers Donnelly of Andrews; two sons, George L. (Caroline) Donnelly, Jr. and James A. Donnelly; a daughter, Thereasa A. (John) Drake; a brother, Michael E. Donnelly; two sisters, Barbara Seton and Shirley Baron; a sister-in-law, Miriam E. Donnelly; two daughters-in-law, Paula Donnelly and Andrea Donnelly; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Donnelly was predeceased by a son, Kenneth McAboy Donnelly.
Memorial services will be Tuesday morning, September 6, 2005, at eleven o'clock in the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
