The Hallock line of descent for Bethuel-7 Hallock, born 1790, is, Zachariah-6 b 1749, Zerubabel-5 b 1721, Zerubabel-4 1688, Thomas-3 b 1660, William-2 b 1620, Peter-1 b 1600.)

Bethuel was a farmer and was born, lived and died near and around Mattituck, Long Island, New York. The History of Mattituck, pg 215, relates "Bethuel Hallock lived in the James Lindsey house, and there was succeeded by his son, John Keyser Hallock. The residence now of Robert H. Lahy was then the home of Joel B. Hallock, son of Bethuel and brother of John K." (Ed Note: actually, they were 1/2 brothers from different mothers. Joel from Mary Corwin and John K from Harmony Howell. Also note the spelling variation for Kasar/Keyser. The name comes from his grandmother, who was Keyser from a Connecticut family.)

Bethuel married first Mary Corwin, born 1793, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Swezey) Corwin in approximately 1813 in Southold, Long Island, New York. They had Joel B., Bethuel Evander, Edwin and Mary before 1828. Mary died Jan 30, 1828, age 35.

Bethuel married second Harmony (Howell) Aldrich, the widow of James Owen Aldrich, approximately 1830, as they had John Kasar Hallock on Oct 8, 1831. (Reports that they had a second son named Bethuel are apparently in error. There were three Bethuel Hallocks that existed in Mattituck from 1815 through 1866. None fit a timeline that fits being a son of Harmony Howell. Also, a petition to probate Harmony's will listed "all legal heirs" to Harmony, including grandchildren, and none are related to a Bethuel Hallock - in fact, the only Hallock children included in that list are children of John Kasar Hallock. All the rest are Aldrich grandchildren.)

Bethuel and Harmony apparently decided on handling their burial places in what today we might consider "unusual". Both were buried with their first spouse. In fact, Harmony's headstone in Bethany Memorial Cemetery, doesn't even mention her second husband's name.
