During his years in Bismarck, some places Virgil worked were the Blue and White Cab Co., Palm Garden, deliveryman for Barsol Delivery, Roosevelt Bar, George Cristo's Jolly George at the Sweet Shop location, he was a fireman for a time, and a guard at the North Dakota State Penitentiary in Bismarck.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge.
Virgil Plunkett died in Bismarck on Oct. 29, 1952 at age 48.
