Her father died before she married, so it was her brother, Solomon, who signed an affidavit that Catharine gave her consent to marry William F Davis, and they were married in Greencastle, the county seat of Putnam, Indiana, on 2 Apr 1846.
Not long after, the first of five daughters, Elizabeth, was born. Between 1852 and 1855, the couple located from Indiana to Iowa, where two of Catherine's siblings were living. Here in Iowa, their last daughter, Amanda, was born.
Catherine's husband, William, died in 1857, and she returned to Indiana, where she remarried to a man named Jacob Snyder Harman on 6 Jun 1858.
The combined family lived in Worth, Boone, IN, where Catherine gave birth to three more children until her death in 1864.
