Can anyone confirm that Nathan and his wife are really buried here like quite a few of their children? Kathy Jo O'Neal, who is doing research at the cemetery, says the grave of the son Noah Oliver Clodfelter has small stones on the sides of it that say Father and Mother. It is assumed these are their headstones.
William Nathan Clodfelter was the fourth of twelve known children of John Clodfelter (1782–1831) and Catherine Bowers (1788–1851), who married in c1805-1806 in presumably North Carolina.
William married Melinda MIller (1818-1897) on 30 Jul 1835 at Lucas County, Iowa. Nathan and Melinda were were the parents of seven known children, namely:
1. John Wesley Clodfelter (1837–1863)
2. Rebecca Catherine Clodfelter Johnson (1839–1908)
3. Sarah Elizabeth Clodfelter Hollingshead (1841–1910)
4. Noah Oliver Clodfelter (1843–1907)
5. Francis Marion Clodfelter (1848–1930)
6. Amanda Ellen Clodfelter Johnson (1850–1936)
7. David Henry Clodfelter (1853–1894)
