This record was found in Shelby County, Indiana, Histories & Families, p. 296, which says that many of the Shelby County, IN Davis families are also buried in Davis Cemetery.
Interestingly, the town of Morristown was almost called Davis Town after this family, but was named after a family minister instead. Rezin Davis (c. 1788 - c 1844) married Nancy Clary (July 09, 1792-November 24, 1858) and is buried nearby in the same cemetery.
Note from an anonymous visitor to the memorial:
This Rezin DAVIS was actually the son of Gerrard and Nancy (unkn) DAVIS of
Frederick Co, MD, rather than the son of John and Hester HARN DAVIS.
This Rezin DAVIS was the brother of John DAVIS, rather than his son.
