Famous child diarist and naturalist. Wrote the book "The Story of Opal: The Journal of an Understanding Heart" which is basically her diary written between the ages of six to seven (disputed by many).

Opal was well traveled within the United States and even lived for a period of time in India as the guest of the Maharaja of Udaipur. She moved to England and during World War II, after being found sick and living in poverty, was committed to the psychiatric hospital at Napsbury where she remained until her death.
