Catharine (Mason) Cooper was born to Martin Mason, Sr. and Mary Lerch. On Sept 7, 1797 she married Edmund Cooper. Together they had nine (9)children: Lewis, Margaret, Martin, Robert, Catharine, Dorothy, Agnes, Jane, & Edmund Squire Cooper. After Edmund died, Catharine moved to Shelby County with her youngest son, Edmund Squire, and lived with him until she died. Edmund Squire married Margaret Jane Van Pelt. Edmund Squire, his wife, and Catharine are all buried in the Van Pelt Cemetery.
