Laura's parents were Henry Alfred Guffee and Beulah Potts. She was married to Alva C. Gibson for 62 years. Mother of a son and a daughter, grandmother of four, and a sister of two brothers. Laura was especially proud of her service for our country. She enlisted in Army in 1943, served in World War II, 64th Army Air Force Squadron. She remained close friends with the women in her squadron through her life and theirs.
Laura was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. She served faithfully on the Altar Guild and enjoyed socializing with her friends from the congregation. Among her favorite activities were traveling, meeting friends at the Officer''s Club for lunch and preparing meals for her family.
