Cheryl A. Murray (nee Salerno), 50, of West Chester and formerly of Delaware County, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Christiana Hospital in Delaware.
Born in Darby in 1960, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Kay (nee Fitzgerald) and Tom Salerno.
She was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, and earned her associate degree at Delaware County Community College, her bachelor's degree at Widener University and her master's degree at West Chester University.
She worked as a guidance counselor at Jordan Bank Elementary School and Elk Ridge Elementary School, both in Oxford.
She loved her family, teaching, doing volunteer work and the Flyers.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, John W. Murray; her dear son, Stephen J. Murray; her siblings, Tom Salerno, Joanne Margetich and Kate Gallimore; and seven nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382.
Calling hours will be from 8 to 10 a.m. on Monday at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, 610-431-9000.
Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church at the above address.
