Annie Mae McKeithan, 84, of Elkton, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Jasper John and Gertrude Williams Davis and was born in Rockingham County on Sept. 26, 1926.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Odell McKeithan; her daughter, Glenna O. McKeithan; brothers, Jessie Davis, Johnny Davis, Matthew "Bill" Davis and Russell Davis and sisters, Evangeline Butler, Meldora Williams and Jurline Jackson.

Anne Mae graduated from the Lucy F. Simms School and was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Bryant Hollow. She participated in church activities, gardened, farmed and was a Cub Scout Leader. She was employed as a domestic worker with several families including the Russell Weaver family for 52 years.

Surviving are her brother, Robert "Jack" R. Davis of Elkton; sisters, Maggie Allen and husband, Leroy, Irene Carter, Ruth Davis, Corena Moore and husband, Carter, and Dorothy Sanders and husband, John, all of Elkton; special niece, Janet Williams and husband, Vincent, of Elkton; special nephew, David Davis and wife, Marie, of Washington, Va.; her caregiver, Carolyn "Sue" Breeden; and a great number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, from the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Interment will follow at the Bryant Hollow Cemetery near Elkton.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home or anytime at the McKeithan home.
