Our beloved husband and father, Grant J. Wood, 68, lost his battle with cancer on April 3, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born November 22, 1935 in Auborn, Wyoming to Jesse E. and Elvon Hurd Wood. He married the love of his life, Shelley Ann Thomson on June 29, 1988 in Salt Lake City, Utah. After school in Auborn, Grant proudly served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam where he was decorated many times for his service. He spent his working years as a professional driver. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Grant is survived by his wife, Shelley and grown children: Jay Wood, Robert Long, Dennis Wood and David Wood. He is also survived by his brother Mel (Aleta) Wood, Sunset, Utah; parents-in-law Roy and Lou Thomson, Bountiful, Utah; sister-in-law Debra Trump, Centerville, Utah and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, a host of many good friends and his beloved cats China and Smudge. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Nyles Wood.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Hunter 8th Ward, 7035 West Lochness Avenue (3605 South) in West Valley City. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church where friends and family may call. Interment will follow at Murray City Cemetery. Arrangements by SereniCare, Funeral Directors.
