MADISON - Services for Arland A. Knapp, 77, Wichita, Kansas, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. The Rev. Calvin L. Heureux will officiate and burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Ressegune Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Knapp died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in Wichita. He was born October 15, 1927, the son of Clarence and Gertrude (Nathan) Knapp. They lived on the family farm until he was 8, when they moved to Madison. He attended Trinity Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Madison High School in 1946. On June 20, 1948 he married Beulah Herrmann. They owned and operated the Dew Drop Inn Ice Cream Parlor in Madison and manufactured all their ice cream. In 1952, he entered the U.S. Army following his discharge in 1954, he returned to Madison. In 1957, they moved to Wichita. He worked in the Beech Aircraft plant and later in the Boeing plant. In 1973 he went to work for Hormel. He retired in 1992. He is survived by his wife and their two children, Marlon Knapp of Wellington, Kansas and Deanna Trotter of Kechi, Kansas, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
