Leo Dean James passed away June 10, 1999 at the age of 76 in the
Reno Veteran's Hospital, Reno, Nev.

He was born in Day, California on July 12, 1922. Mr. James served
in the United States Army for three years during World War II. He lived on the XL Indian Reservation in Alturas, Calif. since 1947. He enjoyed his life of ranching on the land he worked.

He is survived by four daughters, Diane, Elsie, Donna and Jessica,
all living in Burney, Calif.; one son Andy James of the XL Ranch in Alturas; 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held today, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the
XL Ranch Cemetery in Alturas. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Pastor Marty Barlese will officiate the services.
