IN MEMORIAM Dr. Victor Esch, former member of the Board of Police and Fire Surgeons

Victor H. Esch, MD passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 18th at Sibley Hospital from respiratory failure. Dr. Esch served with the District of Columbia Board of Police and Fire Surgeons for over twenty-five years, as the Chief of the Board for the last ten. He also was Department Surgeon for the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department in Montgomery County for over thirty years, serving as Deputy Fire Chief with the Department for a part of that time. In 2006, he was conferred with the title of Fire Department Surgeon Emeritus with the Cabin John Park VFD. He served as well in the position of Surgeon with the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department. Dr. Esch was also an active member of the Friendship Fire Association in D.C. for a number of years. Following his retirement from the D.C. Board of Police and Fire Surgeons, he worked for the U.S. Department of State for a period of years. Dr. Esch also served on the Metropolitan Medical Strike Team and served as a Coroner for Montgomery County for many years.

Dr. Esch will be honored with a vigil at 1000 hours on Friday, September 24th, followed at 1100 hours by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, located at 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, Maryland 20854. Following the Mass will be a private interment.

VICTOR HENRY ESCH, M.D. On September 18, 2010. Survived by his beloved wife, five children, six grandchildren and one brother. He was preceded in death by an infant son. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 9200 Kentsdale Dr., Potomac, MD followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Arc of Montgomery County, Attention: Development Office, 11600 Nebel St., Rockville, MD 20852 or St. Bonaventure Indian Mission and School, P.O.
