Frederick Palmer

Frederick Palmer, one of the oldest residents of Elk Creek, died Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.B. Stillwell, after an illness of seven weeks, although he had been in declining health for a much longer time, the cause of his death being heart trouble. The deceased was born January 8, 1831, at kent, England. At the age of four years he came with his mother to this country, his father having died a couple of years previous, and had been a resident of that locality since that time. In the year 1854 he was married to Amelia Slade who died in 1876.

Mr. Palmer was very highly respected by all who knew him and he will be sadly missed by the entire community. He is survived by one daughter, as named above, by two brothers, Henry Palmer of Elk Creek and Daniel Palmer of Malden, Mass., also by three grandchildren, Millard, Robert and Louise Stilwell of Elk Creek. The funeral was held from the house Thursday, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Scott Clark officiating. Interment in the Elk Creek Cemetery. - Our Elk Creek Reporter.
