Michael Bladen Dix, 42, of Logan, Utah, passed away September 20, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, from severe head trauma related to an accidental fall.
Mike was born May 2, 1968 in Cedar City, Utah, to Dan and LaRue (Bladen) Dix. As one of the "Dix Boys," he spent his youth hiking, camping and participating in fun runs with his brothers. Mike was an Eagle Scout and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Southern Utah University and attended Utah State University and was employed at Automation Products Group in Logan, Utah.
Mike was a kind, gentle and thoughtful man. His laugh and spontaneous sense of humor were infectious. He loved animals of all varieties and never passed up an opportunity to stop and make a new four-legged friend.
Mike enjoyed discussing the latest techno gadget and was an avid movie buff. He had a keen interest in and aptitude for electronics and computers that he readily shared with those less technically inclined.
Mike loved family get-togethers, especially the food, and was always there to support those special moments in our lives. He left us too soon and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he has touched.
Mike is survived by his father, Dan (Janet) Dix; his brothers, Brent (Dixie) Dix, David (Brittney) Dix, Jeff (Sherrie) Dix, Jim Dix and by his beloved cat, Ollie.
Mike was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by his mother, LaRue; and his grandparents, Claude Dix, Helen Edwards Dix, Thomas Bladen and Lottie Tobler Bladen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Cedar LDS West Stake Center, 725 South 1100 West in Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:30-10:30 a.m., also at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery immediately following the funeral service, all under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
