Leroy H. Linn Taken in Death
Leroy H. Linn, 73, retired mail carrier, died at the Mt. Pleasant hospital Saturday, at 11:40 p.m. after a serious illness of several months.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. CDT at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. Roland Crandall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Linn was reared in the Lockridge community and served as a rural mail carrier there for 34 years. He moved to Fairfield in 1947 and made his home at 801 S. Fourth street.
Linn was born Dec. 1, 1887, the son of John and Emma Holt Linn. He was married to Stella A. Jacobs Dec. 22, 1910. She died Oct. 4, 1942. On April 4, 1946 he was married to Mrs. Luella Achenbach, who survivies.
Linn was a member of the Methodist church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Leroy M. Linn, Mt. Pleasant, and one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Sherman, Fairfield. Also surviving are a brother J.E. Linn, Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. James B. Young, Fairfield; five grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Two brothers are deceased.
