The mother of Dalton Forest Jordan was Florence McKay Jordan of the Brandywine area of Claiborne County, Mississippi. She died during the Flu epidemic, of around 1918. She worked as a nurse. Like Dalton Forest, she is buried at Sarepta.
After the mother of Forest died he lived with his grandparents for most of the time. Delilah Marble and Ira Zeno McKay. Dalton contracted Tuberculosis and he died at 21. For a time he was in a sanitarian in Jackson. There he wrote lovely letters to his grandparents and was known by his Aunt Floy for being a sweet boy. He thought that if he could just rest he'd get well.
