Georgia was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Metropolis, Nev., to George Albert Hyde and Bessie Eva Johnson. She passed away Sept. 18, 2010, in Bountiful, Utah, of natural causes.
She married William Wright Poole on Feb. 21, 1935, in the Logan LDS Temple. They were married 56 years before William's passing on March 31, 1991.
She attended school in Wells, Nev., Mountain Home, Thatcher, and graduated from Preston High School.
She lived in Whitney, Idaho, for 67 years. After suffering a stroke in 2002, she lived in Bountiful, Utah, with her daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Richard Knight, until 2008, when she was moved to Orchard Cove then Heritage Place in Bountiful.
Active in the LDS Church, Georgia served in the Primary, Mutual and Relief Society and enjoyed those she served with as well as those she taught in these organizations. Georgia and William served two 18-month missions - Adelaide and Sydney, Australia.
She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in their various activities. She taught her children as she worked along with them, as well as setting a good example and teaching them "to just get doing whatever needed to be accomplished." She enjoyed reading, quilting and attending the Logan LDS Temple. She made beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. While serving in Australia, she was featured in the newspaper for her quilting skills. She was able to make several quilts, which she gave to the sisters there.
She loved attending and watching the BYU athletic teams as well as the Utah Jazz.
Georgia kept a warm, inviting home in which delicious meals were made for her family as well as for her friends and relatives who would come to visit.
Mother was a positive person even through life's challenges. She was always pleasant and happy so you felt better after visiting her.
Georgia is survived by her seven children. Maxine Knight (Richard) of Bountiful, Utah; Arlend (Cleo) of Whitney; Arlene of Preston, Idaho; William D. (Maxine) of Woods Cross, Utah; Virginia Flippence of Preston; Doug (Debbie) of West Valley City, Utah; and Rick (Debbie) of Whitney. She is blessed with 28 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.
