Edgewood, Ia. -- Mrs. Mary Adelaide Seward, Delaware County resident for the past 77 years, died at her home here Sunday morning. Mary Adelaide Annis was born April 24, 1848, in Cattaraugus County, New York, and came to Iowa and settled at Yankee Settlement (now Edgewood) in 1855. April 8, 1866, she was married to Albert O. Seward and to this union two children were born, Meredith A. Seward, living in Alabama, and Mar. Mary Edmunds, of Edgewood.
For many years the Seward family lived on a farm five miles north of Manchester until 16 years ago when they moved to Edgewood. Besides the two children, surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
No definite plans have been made for the funeral.
