ELKTON - Clarence Elmer Hensley, 70, of Rt. 1, Elkton, died Sunday, December 25, 1983, at his home. He had been ill several months.

He was born January 4, 1913, in Rockingham County, and was a son of the late Marvin Gruver and Emma Dean Hensley.

Mr. Hensley was a veteran of World War II, and a deacon at Free Will Baptist Church, in Elkton. He was a retired stonemason.

Surviving are his wife, the former Alda Ruth Meadows; a daughter, Barbara Ann Meadows, of Shenandoah; three sons, Calvin R., Theodore W. and Michael E. Hensley, all of Elkton; seven sisters, Pauline Davis, Louise Fitzgerald and Eva McDonald, all of Elkton; Helen Lam, of Eldon, Wyo.; Reba Collier, of Hyattsville, Md.; Wilma Burke, of Front Royal; and Thelma Kisling, of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Hilden Boyd Hensley, of Stanley; and Curtis Hensley, of Shenandoah; and nine grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Free Will Baptist Church in Elkton, by the Revs. James King and Larry Hensley. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today, at the Brill Funeral Home, in Elkton. Friends may also call at the Hensley home.
