David King Neal Sr. was a native of Caswell County, NC. He was the son of Amy Wall Garrett and Robert Lee Neal; spouse of (1) Nancy Booker and (2) Barbara Roberts; father of David King Neal Jr., Martha Neal Carroll and Alice Neal Oldham; grandfather of Christie Berry, Carrie Carter, Jonathan Oldham, Justin Oldham, Amy Neal, David 'Chip' Neal, Taylor Setliff and Anne Hughes Carroll; great-grandfather of Gavin Nykamp, Peyton Berry, Jacob Oldham, and Skylar Oldham; and brother of Garrett Neal, Algernon Neal, Robert Neal, Ben Neal, Elizabeth Neal Johnson and Lelia Neal Essic.

He was retired as Parts Manager at Lennox Heating & Air Warehouse in Greensboro, a former Deacon at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, a member of Cobb Ruritan Club, active with the Relay for Life in Caswell County, and had helped coach Little League in Caswell Co. He took great pride in the fact that he formerly ran the clock for all the Bartlett Yancey Football games. He was a member and Deacon of First Congregational Christian Church in Reidsville, NC.
