The Mishawaka native was a former schoolteacher and retired in 1984 as director of special services for East Allen County Schools. He was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church and New Haven Kiwanis Club, and veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Janice; sons, Randy of Sellersburg, Brian of Greenville, Ohio, and Scott of Fort Wayne; brothers, Robert of Three Rivers, Mich., and Russell of South Bend; and six grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. tomorrow in the church, with burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Calling is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, New Haven, and 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow in the church.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the church, Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice Foundation or the Allen County Cancer Society.
