John T Ashburn suffered a stroke Sunday at the home of his sister, Mrs John Wakefield, Clarkrange. Mr Ashburn was in town Thursday of last week and seemed hale and hearty in
spite of his more than 70 years. Wednesday about 8 a.m. he passed away.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs Lon Allen, Ozone; a son, Dallas, Ozone; 4 sisters, Mrs Wakefield at whose home he died; Mrs Joseph Lowe, Miss Angeline Ashburn, Clarkrange; Mrs Haley Ann Shillings, Crossville; 2 brothers, Davis of this county and Robert of Fentress county. His wife died about 5 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today - Thursday - at Ozone with Crossville Lodge No 483 F & A M of which Mr Ashburn was a member, in charge.
