Death of Mr. N.T. Turner

After a lingering illness extending over a period of twelve months or longer Mr. N.T. Turner died at his home near town last Friday. Surrounded by the members of his family the end came peacefully, death relieving him of the many weary months of pain and suffering, all of which he bore uncomplainingly and with true christian fortitude. Mr. Turner was one of the parish's best citizens and he was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. His death is not only a distinct loss to his family, to whom he was so sincerely devoted, but it is one that is felt by the community at large. The funeral services were held Saturday evening at the family burying ground about six miles from Minden and a large concourse of relatives and friends attended the last sad rites. To the grief stricken ones genuine sympathy is offered.
