Mrs. Newt Saye, 85, of 2027 S. Milledge Ave., died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1992
A native of McDuffie County, Mrs. Saye had lived in Athens 72 years. She was the daughter of the late Jim J. Farr and the late Viola Davis Farr. She was the wife of the late Rev. Newt Saye.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home. The Revs. Jack Segars and Eugene Pettyjohn officiated and burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Carl Prescott, A.L. Dixon Jr, Hubert Cheatham, Donald Cheatham, Bobby Brooks and Postell Lovern.
Survivors include a son, Robert N. Saye Jr. , Palm Bay, Fla. ; three sisters, Aileen Crowley and Helen Crowley, both of Athens, and Nell Brock, Watkinsville; one brother, Hugh M. Farr, Pawleys Island, S.C. ; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Baptist Village, P.O.
