Enfield Plantation (also called Endfield), King William County, Virginia, was the original home of Col. John Waller. Built circa 1694 and still standing today, the first home of Col. John Waller, son of Dr. John Waller of Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, England, was acquired by Col. John Waller family prior to 1696. After a quarter of a century at Endfield, Col. Waller later removed his primary residence to the Newport Plantation, in Spotsylvania County, where he is buried.

Some accounts say that it was at Endfield that his son Col. John Waller Jr. owned the African slave Kunta Kinte (ancestor of Alex Haley, author of "ROOTS.") Others say it was his grandson John Waller III of Newport. John Waller III sold Kunta Kinte to his brother Dr. William Waller. In "ROOTS," Kunta Kinte visited with his master at Newport and Enfield plantations.

The East boundary of Endfield Plantation adjoined a fork of Isbell Branch and the William Isbell property including what was then Isbell Spring, now Church Spring, a tributary of Fawn Branch. Southside of the Mattaponi River. Col. John Waller sold William Isbell 12 acres also.

Col. John is buried here, in Partlow, VA on the land of the old Newport Plantation in Spotsylvania.
