SERVICES WERE MONDAY FOR DR. C.W. BUCK
Funeral services were Monday, August 22, for Dr. C.W. Buck, a Haxtun dentist for the past 40 years, who died August 19 at the Logan County Hospital.
Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Haxtun with Rev. Gordon Benesh officiating. Interment was at the Haxtun Cemetery. Thompson Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Dr. Buck was born on August 16, 1894 in St. Charles, Minnesota, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Gary Buck.
He moved with his family to Kansas as a small boy and attended school and graduated from the Stockton High School.
He enlisted in the Army on September 21, 1917 and was discharged on January 4, 1919. He then attended the Denver University Dental School and graduated in 1919.
He first began practicing dentistry in the Grover and New Raymer area.
He married Myrtle Eleanor Paterson on September 8, 1920 in Denver and the couple made their home in Otis where he had his dental practice.
Dr. Buck moved to Haxtun in 1937 and continued to practice almost until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Ariel and Vera; and one brother, Carleton.
Survivors include two sons: Clifford Buck of Plainsville, Ohio and John Buck of Colorado Springs; four daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Doty of Champaign, Illinois, Mrs. Marjean Boyd of Golden, Mrs. Patricia Bynre of Sunny Valley, California, and Mrs. Shirley Salyards of Haxtun; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers: Arthur Buck of Cheyenne and Norman of Albuquerque; and a sister: Emily Foster of Fort Collins.
