Woodward, Okla. — Ray Fletcher, 70 year's old, former owner of Ray's Meat Market, died Friday, September 10, 2010 at his home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Woodward with the Reverend Charlie Graves officiating. Interment will be in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.



Eddie Ray Fletcher was born on August 5, 1940 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Willie Eddie and Etta Cullum (McFarland) Fletcher. Ray was reared in Granite and attended Granite schools. He was united in marriage to Barbara Lamb Jennings on March 28, 1981 in Shattuck, Oklahoma where they made their home. Ray owned Ray's Meat Market in Shattuck and most recently in Woodward for over 18 years. After his retirement he went to work for United Supermarket and continued working there for five years.



Ray was a member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four sons, Kevin Fletcher of the home, Tony (Vickie) Fletcher of Rattan, Mark Fletcher of Nicoma Park and Scott (Ramona) Jennings of Navarre, Florida; two daughters, Karen (Joe) Clark of Magnolia Springs, Texas, Sherri (Rick) Harris of Lone Wolf ; 11 grandchildren Crystal Wolfe, Justin Fletcher, Jessica Schombs, Matt Clark, Josh Clark, Homer Ellis, Johnny Ellis, Lynn Ellis, Zachary Fletcher, Chelse` Cloud and Troy Fletcher; twelve great grandchildren; one brother Johnny Fletcher; five sisters, Audie Smith, Betty Banks, Faye Weaver, Marie Cline and Linda Denham.



Ray was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and seven half-brothers and sisters.
