William Ben Woltman, 85, of Chilton, Texas, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, in Waco. Cremation was arranged by Pecan Grove Funeral Home of Waco.

Will was born to the late W. J. and Johanna Lessman Woltman. He attended Shields Academy and was a graduate of Marlin High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. Following his return home, he earned a Bachelor of Animal Science degree from Texas A&M University. On September 27, 1958, Will married Alyne Glennon Brice. Over the years, Will worked in the insurance business and owned and operated The Brazos Drive-In in the Cedar Springs Community. His real love was farming and raising cattle. Will was forever a proud Aggie and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marlin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alyne; brother, Arthur Woltman; and sister, Eleanor Hicks.

Survivors include his son, Gary Lee Woltman and wife, Traci, of Goodville (the home place); daughter, Carol Elliott and husband, Joel, of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Shannon Alyne Elliott and Ian Patrick Elliott of Hillsborough; sister, Viola Scheef and husband, Herman, of Marlin; eight nieces and nephews; and many great friends and fellow Aggies.
