Arthur G. Woltman, age 84, of Marlin, entered into rest on Monday, February 13, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Ferrer as celebrant. Burial followed at the Hillcrest Cemetery. A Rosary was recited on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. at Adams Chapel.


Mr. Woltman was born on September 5, 1921 in Falls County to William J. and Johanna Lessman Woltman. He was retired as a hydrologist with the USDA after 33 years of service. He was a life long resident of Falls County, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War 2 in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Mr. Woltman enjoyed fishing, traveling, farming, ranching and especially being around and visiting with his family. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and served as the Grand Knight.

Survivors include two sons: Arthur W. Woltman and wife Edith, Katy, TX. and Glenn Woltman and wife Yvette Do, Sugarland, TX.; a brother, Will Ben Woltman, Lott, TX.; one sister, Viola Scheef, Marlin; a brother-in-law, H. P. Hicks, Marlin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Basil Margiotta, Duane Drews, David Kasner, Ted Wilganowski, Gene Wilke and Tom Connell.
