Dupre McWha, the son of Dupree Alexander McWha (1785-1837) and Jane Bryson McWha (1794-1846), was born in 1812 at Ballymullen, Bangor, Down, Northern Ireland. He married Isabella Ralston (1826-1905) on 23 Dec 1856 in Ballywalter, Newtownards, Down, Northern Ireland. They had 5 sons and 2 daughters:

Dupre McWha and his wife Isabella were members of the Millisle Presbyterian Church, Ballywalter Road, Millisle, County Down, Northern Ireland. On 6 Oct 1870, the members of the Presbytery of Ards met in Millisle Presbyterian Church and solemnly set apart and ordained Mr. Dupre M'Wha to the office of the eldership.
