Funeral services for Mrs J Lawrence Parker, who died at the home of Mr and Mrs A S Parker on Prince avenue Thursday morning at 8 o'clock, will be held from the residence Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev J C Wilkinson, pastor of the First Baptist church and Rev G Campbell Morgan, will conduct the services. Interment will be in Oconee cemetery.
Mrs Parker has been in bad health for about two years and came here two months age to be with Mr and Mrs Parker. Up until she was taken ill she and her husband lived in New York City but since that time she has spent most of the time with her parents in California.
Before her marriage, she was Miss Margaret Torrey, daughter of Dr and Mrs R A Torrey, the former a noted Bible teacher. She was twenty-nine years old and is survived by he husband and one little girl, Bettie, Dr and Mrs Torrey and Mr and Mrs A S Parker.
Mr Parker is an Athens man, a graduate of Georgia Tech and a successful engineer with the Doherty Company.
