Alpheus B. Duden was born in Wayne county, Iowa, on June 13, 1864. He passed away at his home in Clinton township, Nov. 13, 1920, at the age of 56 years and 5 months.

His entire life was spent in Wayne county, Iowa. He was married to Miss Annis Young, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrit Young, at Allerton, Iowa, in January 1887.

He was a faithful member of the I. O. O. F. Lodge No. 310 of Allerton, Iowa.

Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Duden, Guy and Merritt, both of whom are living.

His faithful wife and companion passed to the great beyond on April 2, 1916. The deceased leaves to mourn his death besides his two sons, three brothers and three sisters, three grandchildren and a wide circle of sorrowing relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held at the Christian church at Allerton, Iowa on Monday, Nov. 15, conducted by Rev. Piety. Interment was in the Allerton cemetery.
