Ethel Bowser Patton, 89, of Springfield, died Friday morning, September 22, 1995, in her residence. She was born February 13, 1906, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William Albert and Dessie E. (Geiger) Bowser. Mrs. Patton was a graduate of Wittenberg University, a member of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority and a member of Central united Methodist Church. She was a retired proofreader from the Springfield News-Sun. Survivors include her husband, John S. Patton; one daughter, Joan Dedo of California; grandchildren, Douglas S. and Susan Dedo of California, Dr. William R. and Yvonne Dedo of Louisiana, John H. and Lori Dedo of California; four great grandchildren, Daniel S., Andrew, Kate D. and Christopher Dedo; sister-in-law, Dottie Shank of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Merle L. Bowser. Friends may call Monday from 4-6 p.m. in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joyce E. Fry officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
